The Bay Bridge Trail is known as honoring Alex Zuckermann, the late East Bay Bicycle Coalition creator and Bay Bridge Trail advocate. A plaque bearing their title is based in the path which stretches over 4 kilometers from Emeryville to Yerba Buena Island (bay area). The initial two-thirds of this Bay Bridge Trail, from Emeryville towards the Oakland touchdown, exposed in September 2013. In October 2016, the bike and Pedestrian Path over the East Span of this San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge started, allowing cyclists and pedestrians to traverse through the East Span’s signature tower that is 525-foot this new landing area and Vista aim on Yerba Buena Island. The size of the road in the East Span for the Bay Bridge is 2.2 kilometers from Oakland to Yerba Buena Island.

To make sure individual security, the 15.5-foot-wide course has one lane in each direction for bicyclists and an outside lane designated for pedestrians.
